Every year for the past 6 years we have attended Goodwood Festival of Speed. It's a fantastic event and if you haven't been you've really got to check it out. In previous years we tend to go on the Thursday and Friday. The Thursday is great for checking out all the manufacturer stands and market stalls and then the Friday is great for watching the action on the hill. This year however we only went for one day (Thursday) as Shaun was working nights straight after.
There have been a few changes this year and there was actually quite a lot of action on the hill on the Thursday. There was the Supercar run and the "First Glance" batch running up the hill. The "First Glance" batch includes cars making their public debut and it's really interesting to watch. It included things like the new Civic Type R and the new Range Rover Velar. There was also a shootout practice. This is a part where the fastest hill climb cars get an early practice run up the hill, in previous years this happened on the Friday instead so it was a nice surprise.
Here's a few pictures from the day and like I said earlier, if you haven't been before it's definitely worth a visit. There's nowhere quite like it. You can get right up next to some amazing machinery and unlike motorshows, you actually get to hear cars of all era's race up the hill. If you can go midweek on the Thursday and or Friday they are both definitely quieter than the weekend days.
