Camping Mullerwiese to Campinganlage Stahlhutte
After staying at Camping Mullerwiese we planned to head into the local town of Baden-Baden. This didn't quite work out that successful. Every carpark we arrived at had a height restriction of 2 metres. The California with awning is 2.04 metres. And not only that but every road side car parking space had permit restrictions. After a stressful drive around Baden-Baden we decided to cut our losses and carry on north.
Shaun has always been a huge petrolhead and there was only one place he was heading when in this part of the world. Even the roads surrounding the petrolhead 'Mecca' of the Nurburgring are incredible. The concentration on supercars and super bikes increased dramatically as soon as we drew closer to the 'Ring. There wasn't any special motor racing on at the Nurburgring but it was a manufacturer test day. This is where prototype and test cars get hammered round the circuit and tested to destruction. So that was fun to watch. We both really enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding the Nurburgring and we would love to return another time.
We stayed at a very basic campsite called Campinganlage Stahlhutte. We were the only people staying in the campsite. It was suitably situated for the Nurburgring and the facilities were lovely and clean if a little too far from the actual pitches.
